A Day at Kuya's Center (Bahay ni Kuya)

I had my CSP (Community Service Program) today at 6 St. Michael St. near Betty-go Belmonte Station. I, together with my groupmates, had some kind of interaction with the kids there at the center. We prepared some activities (games and such) to keep them busy, and to get to know them as well. Last night, I was bummed to death by my sickness (dreadful colds and caugh) so I didn't really have the energy to think about the CSP. I didn't even want to attend that CSP. Besides, I don't really have the skills (and probably the guts) to talk, or to play with children, because I don't like children. I don't like dealing with their mischievous deeds. Precisely why I chose secondary education. Surprisingly enough, as soon as I got to know each one of those kids, I felt different. Yes, they sure were naughty, and crazy (not exaggerating!), but they're fun to be with. Somehow, they made me feel safe. I was able to forget all my worries at that time. I didn't think of EDUTECH2, ENGLRES, TREDTWO, MYTHFOLK, STGEART, KASPIL1, FSTUDY3, or LISREAD. The children in that center were the only ones that occupied my mind. For a short time in this busy and chaotic life of mine, I felt happy and free (some might think it stupid). At the end of the day, I was dead tired. But it was all worth it. So all of you there at Kuya's center (Benny, Daniel, Lorence, Marcos, Regie, Michael, Ryan, Vincent, Mark, Jomarie, Jose, Edsel, Sonny Boy, Marjun, and other kids whose names I failed to remember) THANK YOU. I'll never forget this day. This day when I've actually felt a fleeting rapture of that being alive.
